Brooklyn Nets player Kris Humphries and Kim Kardashian finalized their divorce settlement on Friday, April 19th, finally dissolving their 72-day marriage. A divorce settlement is a legal agreement between the two parties to a divorce stipulating how property, assets, debts, and other marital issues will be divided and dealt with upon the termination of their marriage.

According to TMZ, although Humphries has previously asked for $7 million from Kardashian, he was not rewarded any money in the settlement. The agreement also stated that Humphries and Kardashian would each have to pay for their own attorney’s fees. In addition, Humphries originally wanted an annulment instead of a divorce. Unlike a divorce, an annulment would establish that the former couple’s marriage was not legally valid. He wanted to prove that their marriage was based on fraud, and thus should be invalidated by the court. However, in the settlement, he dropped this demand and complied with the divorce instead.
Prior to the meeting in which the settlement was reached, Humphries had missed an earlier divorce settlement meeting on April 12 to play with the Nets in Indianapolis. Luckily for Brooklyn Nets fans, now that the two have settled, he won’t have to miss any games for court appearances.
