Adrienne and Paul of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Divorce

Adrienne Maloof and Paul Nassif of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills recently filed for divorce. They are just one of 35 couples who have filed for divorce since being on this show, so this should not be a surprising turn of events. The couple has appeared on the show since 2010, and just as with most other celebrity divorces, fans are wondering what will happen regarding child custody and distribution of assets.

The couple has been together for nine years, and apparently the divorce was not a surprise for either Adrienne or Paul. Though Paul filed the papers in court in Los Angeles, Adrienne claims it was ultimately her decision to break up the marriage. However, the divorce does seem to be a shock for both fans and producers of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills since there were apparently no signs of trouble right before the split. But what some do not know is that there have been some problems in the marriage in the past, with marital counseling being one method that did not work for the couple.

The good news for fans is that the show is still filming, which means it may be possible to see much of the divorce unfold on TV in a matter of weeks. Many claim Adrienne may even talk about it on the show. Of course, like most celebrity couples getting a divorce, this couple has asked for privacy for now.

The two have three sons together. Adrienne will reportedly fight for full custody of them since she is with them most of the time, and has even said she will go to court if necessary. It is unknown whether Paul will fight back, seeking any type of child custody or visitation. Neither he nor his representatives have said anything about this yet.

What is known is that there is a prenuptial agreement in place. This will likely allow both of them to keep any assets they brought into the marriage. Though Adrienne is believed to have more money due to her family, Paul is a plastic surgeon, which means that neither will likely leave the marriage broke. The public may hear more details about the assets, including who gets the mansion, as the divorce proceedings continue.

Like many high net worth divorce cases, this one may get complicated, especially if Paul fights for custody, too. The prenuptial agreement may help the asset distribution process go smoothly, but there is always the possibility that Paul will challenge it. In addition, it is unknown if alimony or child support will be involved, and if so, how much. More details will likely emerge as the divorce case continues.
